Johnny Gottsegen is, in essence, a firework with really good hair.
A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Johnny trained at the Meisner Studio, the Experimental Theatre Wing, and the Stonestreet screen acting studio. He has since performed both contemporary and classical theatre, with a particular focuses on Shakespeare and new queer works. (He is very passionate about Shakespeare and new queer works.) Recent projects include bringing his intensity and vibrance to famous Shakespearean tricksters Puck and Autolycus, and starring in award-winning short play Like The Sea. In addition to his theatrical work, Johnny has acted in short films and web series ranging in genre from comedic realism to maximalist horror. Every new project is an opportunity to apply his specificity, drive, and sheer enthusiasm for collaborative creation. He has played characters possessing a range of gender identities, and believes strongly in the importance of representing authentic queer experiences onscreen and onstage.
